Cue the songbirds. I’ve had a morning or three like that…with an “oh shit” thrown in before repressing the list of things I’ll have to do on 90 minutes of sleep.
I was surprised that I didn’t hear the dawn chorus. That’s generally my cue to get to bed. Generally when I go to bed at 3 or 4 a.m. (which is usually through the summer) I sleep 8 hours until 11 or 12. Today I’m running on 5 hours. I’m a little blurry eyed!
LOL LOVE IT! I’ll never forget years ago when I was in a huge tent talking with some friends I’d just met. We sat there and talked all night long at a week-long camping event called Pensic in Northern Pennsylvania. I remember the tent getting brighter and brighter. I even said to him that I wished someone would turn OFF their headlights only to realize that we had literally talked the night away and there was no way to turn off the Sun.
I get my best inspiration for writing in the wee morning hours. I Love the Quiet of the dawn before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. Peace & Tranquility.
In our heat, it’s lovely and cool to write at night. I tend to start writing at 11 or midnight. I head to bed at 3 or 4 a.m. This morning it was after 6 a.m. I got hubby’s morning coffee as he headed off on a 115 km bike ride before I went to bed. 🙂
I’ve been battling a sleep demon myself — equally as good, as it is frustrating (my recent The Book and BOGO) – you got more sleep than I did – I’m in a juggling act I didn’t sign up for that’s stealing my time. Don’t nap today!!!! 🙂
I do the same – my naps resemble sleep. Everyone knows if waiting for me to make plans “after I nap” – to go ahead and make them without me – I won’t be up for quite a while lol.
😉
Just going to bed now at 6:41 a.m.
Worked over night going over the first draft of my current WIP before sending it off to my editor this morning at 6 a.m.
Good night!
Went to bed this morning at 7 a.m. after sending my current WIP off to Staples in Kelowna for my editor to pick up. My husband was up 2 hours with me before he went for a 100+ bicycle ride, and I went to bed!
yes indeed!
🙂
Are you a night-owl too? Pulling all-nighters is often the only way I get to see the sunrise!
Definitely the only time I see a sunrise. 🙂
I know that feeling all too well 🙂

Not you too, teacher…
Definitely. I am a hard core night owl.

LOL – sleep well.
I’m up. I got 5 hours sleep. That’s not good. But it should help me get to bed a little earlier (later?) tonight.

I never nap, because I don’t wake up for 4 or 5 hours.

Someone else also has rather eccentric sleeping habits? 🙂
I suspect I am in good company!
I enjoy the humour in so many of your posts!
I try not to take things too seriously. It makes life much more entertaining.
laughing and crying
feels so good

Been there – done that. Often. I’ve always been more creative in the middle of the night. Nice to know I’m not the only one.
