Thanks, that was great. I have tons of first lines in my word folder called “ideas”. I just see or hear something which catches me, and I write it down on a scrap of paper, and then make sure I transfer it to the word document, as not to lose the thought. I can go back later and ask where the hell I was going with that thought, and other times they still just need a little bit more time to ripen. I enjoyed the article and would not have found it on my own.
I have done first line generation and then gone through each in turn to make a short story to go with it. Some real surprises! I keep lines that float in on the ether in a fancy notebook. It’s interesting to read through it when I’m looking for ideas! Glad you found it useful.
King knows what he is talking about and he communicates his concepts to others easily.
