   I think that is great advice especially in a day when reading is not thought as highly of as it ought. I wish people would try to extend out and read beyond their immediate skill-level and strain to understand. Only in conditioning can one rise to discover those nuggets of gold treasure like one finds in your poems et al. examples of writing.
