The birch trees

are splattered with new green.

Buds like pretty envelopes, unfold

 to reveal letters greeting

summer.

Sweet and brilliant thought about the buds like envelopes, Shawn. That’ll stick in my mind as watch spring make its swift run through my neck of the woods.
